still exciting after all these years - This beautifully designed and illustrated book is a real classic. A brief and compelling outline of the author s philosophy is followed by a series of games that help young people (of all ages!) see, feel, hear and touch nature in new ways that sensitise, educate and excite.Despite its age there are millions of young people who would find most of the games new and inspirational.
Natural learning - As a student teacher i have found this book very helpful when trying to make my lessons different , motivating and fun learning. Some of the ideas are somewhat archaic, but carefully adapted, provide a great basis for curriculum lessons. I have also used them within Brownie group activities. They provide a natural and alternative approach to learning and developing skills. Reccomended.
Clasic guide to outdoor education games for children - Describes Cornell s philosophy of outdoor education andgives instructions for playing outdoor education games that work. This is an excellent guide for educators, camp counselors and scout leaders. Some games are designed to work in forested areas and are difficult to adapt to treeless areas.
